Recently we (Markus and Liz Bokisch) spent a weekend in our old stomping grounds, Napa Valley. We thought it would be fun to share with you some of our favorite haunts.
NAPA
Our first stop was Oxbow Market in Napa. What isn’t great about Oxbow Public Market? Great eating and great shopping, pretty much what defines a great day out!
This time we took some time to pick out some crazy good spices at Whole Spice: harissa, porcini sea salt, zahtar, and black olive fleur de sel.
We went to Ca MoMi for lunch located in Oxbow Market. The pizza is DELISH and they have a great Italian wine selection too!
…and we couldn’t resist Kara’s Cupcakes, could you?
To finish out the day we stopped in at Mark Herold Wines for some tasting and visiting. We are growers for Mark Herold, so it was great to surprise them with a visit and reaffirm just how great their wines are.
RUTHERFORD
We spent the night in Rutherford at Rancho Caymus. Beautiful accomodations and in a perfect mid-valley location.
Before leaving Rutherford, we had to stop in at Orin Swift for some tasting. We are growers for Orin Swift and we love seeing the culmination of years of hard work with the grapes to be so beautifully respected and presented in gorgeous wines.
St. Helena
The next day we went to St. Helena. We had lunch downtown at Market.
…and dinner at one of our favorite restaurants for years, Terra. They have an amazing menu, DO NOT miss this place.
Before heading back home to Lodi, we had to stop in at St. Helena Olive Oil. We can never miss an opportunity to buy locally produced olive oil. I think olive oil might course through Markus’s veins.
Enjoy your next trip to Napa by stopping by some of our favorite places. Let us know if you discover some of your own. You can find us on Facebook.
