Norway has always been on our bucket list, but mainly to see the Fjords. However, while we were there (in summer 2018), we discovered Oslo and fell in love! Here are a few “must sees” for when you go!
“Must taste”-fresh crayfish for lunch. The Scandinavians are crazy for crayfish. We had the fortune of good timing and got to enjoy fresh crayfish roe. It was salty and delicious…all you need is a bit of mayo and a squeeze of lemon. Wash it down with a crisp, cold lager and you’re in Oslo heaven!
” Must watch”-Vikings on History Channel
“Must visit”-Viking Ship Museum
Our family has turned into “Vikings” fanatics. We loved watching episodes while traveling through Norway. We went to visit the Viking Ship Museum and it was incredible. Imagine looking at real Viking ships made of oak that date back to the 800’s! Mind blowing!
“Must see sculpture garden”- The Vigeland sculpture park is the largest sculpture garden in the world made by one man. Take a stroll and then head back to the harbor for another beer or glass of crisp white wine before dinner!
